The Peer Review Process

The Cosmic Journal of Biology is a peer-reviewed journal that publishes original research articles on all aspects of biology, with a focus on astrobiology and exobiology. All manuscripts submitted to the journal are subject to a rigorous peer review process designed to ensure that the research published is of the highest quality and meets the highest scientific standards.

Each manuscript is reviewed by two independent experts in the field, who are selected based on their expertise and relevant experience.

Evaluation Criteria

The reviewers are asked to evaluate the manuscript on the following criteria:

• Scientific significance and originality
• Soundness of the methodology and analysis
• Clarity and completeness of the presentation
• Appropriateness of the conclusions

The reviewers provide written feedback to the authors, which is used to improve the manuscript. If the reviewers have any major concerns about the manuscript, the authors may be asked to revise and resubmit it.

Once the manuscript is revised and resubmitted, it is reviewed by the editor-in-chief, who makes a final decision on whether to accept or reject it. If the manuscript is accepted, it is published in the journal as soon as possible.

The journal has a number of policies in place to ensure the integrity of the peer review process, including:

• All reviewers are required to disclose any potential conflicts of interest.
• Reviewers are not allowed to see the authors' names or affiliations until after they have submitted their reviews.
• The editor-in-chief is not involved in the selection of reviewers or the evaluation of manuscripts.
• Authors are given the opportunity to respond to the reviewers' comments before the editor-in-chief makes a final decision on the manuscript.
