1. Journal Management & Operational Structure

  • Publishing Platform: CJC uses the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform, an open-source workflow management software developed by the Public Knowledge Project (PKP). OJS handles manuscript submissions, double-blind peer review, copyediting, indexing, and digital publication.

  • Management & Publisher: The journal is published under the auspices of Cosmic Degree College / Faiqah Ramzan in Pakistan.

  • Editorial Operations:

    • Editorial Office: Manages day-to-day administrative checks (plagiarism screening via Turnitin/iThenticate, submission verification, and author communication).

    • Handling Editors & Reviewers: Managing editors assign qualified domain experts to oversee the peer-review process, ensuring compliance with publication ethics and academic quality.

2. Funding & Financial Model

As an Open Access journal, CJC relies on specific revenue streams to cover production costs while providing free access to its published articles:

  • Institutional Support: Initial infrastructure, technical hosting, and administrative oversight are supported by the parent publishing institution (Cosmic Degree College).

  • Article Processing Charges (APCs): To sustain open-access publishing, archiving, and editing workflows without charging readers, journals under this model typically use APCs paid by authors, their host institutions, or research grant funders.

  • Waiver & Support Policies: CJC maintains a Waiver-Eligibility Policy to support authors or researchers from low-income environments who cannot cover APCs.

  • Grant & Author Funding Declarations: Authors submitting to CJC are required to disclose any external grant funding (such as funding agencies, grant numbers, or project durations) supporting their research.
