Open Acess Policy

The Open Access Policy of the Cosmic Journal of Chemistry (CJC) operates under the principle that providing free, immediate, and unrestricted public access to research fosters a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Core Principles of CJC's Open Access Model

1. Immediate Open Access

  • Gold Open Access: All research articles published in CJC are made freely available online to the global community immediately upon publication.

  • No Paywalls or Subscriptions: Readers, scholars, and institutions can read, download, print, search, copy, and link to the full texts of all articles without paying subscription fees or experiencing embargo periods.

2. Licensing & Re-use Terms (CC BY 4.0)

  • Creative Commons Attribution License: Articles are published under the CC BY 4.0 (Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International) license.

  • Permitted Uses: Under this license, third parties are free to share, adapt, translate, and build upon the published work in any medium or format for academic, professional, or commercial purposes.

  • Attribution Requirement: Any reuse or distribution must properly attribute the original author(s) and cite Cosmic Journal of Chemistry as the original source of publication.

3. Author Rights & Archiving

  • Copyright Retention: Authors retain full copyright ownership of their articles while granting the journal a non-exclusive license to publish and archive the work.

  • Self-Archiving: Authors are permitted and encouraged to deposit all versions of their work (Pre-print, Post-print, or Publisher's PDF) in personal, institutional, or public repositories (such as ResearchGate, ORCID, or university libraries) without restrictions.

4. Scientific Visibility & Impact

By removing financial and technical barriers to access, the journal aims to:

  • Increase international readership and citations for contributing authors.

  • Ensure equal access to chemistry research for scholars in low- and middle-income regions.

  • Support interoperability across digital indexing systems and harvesters via the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform.

Resources & Links

  • Official Portal: Cosmic Journal of Chemistry Policies

  • Licensing Standard: Creative Commons CC BY 4.0 Terms

The Cosmic Journal of Chemistry (CJC) does not charge a submission fee; APCs are charged only upon manuscript acceptance to cover editorial processing, double-blind peer review, typesetting, and open-access hosting.

    Fee Structure

    • Submission Fee: Free (0 PKR / 0 USD)

    • Article Processing Charge (APC): Typically ranges between 5,000 PKR and 10,000 PKR for national authors (or equivalent in USD for international submissions), depending on the current policy tier of the publisher (The Cosmic Degree College).

    Key Payment & Fee Policies

    1. Payable Post-Acceptance: The APC is requested only after your manuscript undergoes double-blind peer review and receives a formal editorial acceptance notice. Payment is never required prior to peer review.

    2. Waiver & Support Eligibility: CJC maintains a Waiver-Eligibility Policy for authors, student researchers, or scholars from low-income institutions who cannot cover the full publication cost. Waiver requests must be submitted to the Chief Editor during the initial manuscript submission stage.

    3. Refund Policy: Once an article is accepted and processed for publication/layout formatting, publication fees are generally non-refundable.

    Verification & Direct Contact

Because fee structures may be updated periodically by the portal administration:

    • Official Portal: Verify the latest notice under the CJC Policies & Submissions Tab.

    • Editorial Email: Direct inquiries regarding fee breakdowns or waiver requests can be emailed to the handling editor at cjc@cosmic.edu.pk.

Subject: APC Waiver Request – Manuscript ID: [Insert Manuscript ID / Title]

      Dear Editor-in-Chief,

I am writing to formally request a [full waiver / partial reduction] of the Article Processing Charge (APC) for our manuscript titled "[Insert Full Manuscript Title]", which [has been submitted / was recently accepted for publication] in the Cosmic Journal of Chemistry (Manuscript ID: [Insert Manuscript ID, e.g., CJC-2026-XXXX]).

      Reason for Waiver Request

We are strongly committed to publishing our work in the Cosmic Journal of Chemistry under its Open Access model. However, our research team faces financial constraints that make it difficult to cover the standard publication fee:

      • Financial Constraint: [Choose/adapt the most accurate reason: e.g., "Our research is self-funded and does not currently receive financial support from an active research grant or external funding agency." OR "Our host institution does not allocate departmental funds for open-access publication fees." OR "The authors are early-career student researchers working with limited institutional financial backing."]

      • Institutional Support: No additional financial support or publication subsidy is available from [Insert your University / Department Name].

      Significance of the Research

[Provide 2–3 brief sentences highlighting the merit and relevance of your paper. Example: "Our study presents novel insights into synthesis methods for green catalysts, which aligns directly with the journal’s focus on sustainable chemistry. We believe this work will offer significant value to the journal's readership."]

In light of the journal’s commitment to supporting scholars and ensuring that financial barriers do not prevent quality research from being published, we respectfully request that you consider granting us an APC waiver for this paper.

Thank you very much for your time, consideration, and continued support of the scientific community.

      Sincerely,
