The rapid development of digital technologies has brought significant changes to the field of education, including the teaching and learning of the Arabic language. This study examines the role of digital technology in contemporary Arabic language teaching, focusing on its major opportunities, challenges, and implications for teachers and learners. The study adopts a descriptive and analytical approach based on recent literature concerning digital education, technology-enhanced Arabic language learning, and the use of artificial intelligence in education. It discusses the contribution of digital technologies to developing the four language skills—listening, speaking, reading, and writing—and highlights their potential to support learner motivation, interaction, and independent learning. The study also examines major challenges, including teacher digital competence, the quality and reliability of Arabic digital content, unequal access to technological resources, and the limitations of artificial intelligence in processing Arabic linguistic and cultural contexts. Particular attention is given to the changing role of the Arabic language teacher, who is increasingly required to act as a guide, content evaluator, learning designer, and responsible user of digital technologies. The study concludes that effective digital transformation in Arabic language teaching does not depend on the quantity of technology used, but on the quality and appropriateness of its pedagogical application. A balanced approach that integrates clear linguistic objectives, qualified teachers, reliable digital content, suitable technologies, and responsible use of artificial intelligence can contribute to the development of Arabic language education while preserving its linguistic, cultural, and human dimensions.
