This research critically examines the concept of rights in the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and their relevance to contemporary society. The study explores individual, social, and state-level rights as exemplified in the Sīrat, highlighting their theoretical, ethical, and practical dimensions. Using a qualitative, analytical methodology, primary sources from the Qur’an, Hadith, and classical Sīrah literature were studied alongside modern scholarly interpretations. The findings reveal that the prophetic model integrates individual freedom, collective responsibility, and moral accountability into a comprehensive framework of rights. Individual rights, including life, property, honor, and religious freedom, are safeguarded alongside social responsibilities toward family, neighbors, vulnerable groups, and minority communities. At the state level, the Sīra exemplifies a governance model based on justice, equality, accountability, and rule of law, ensuring both civic rights and societal stability. The study also identifies contemporary challenges to rights, such as social injustice, moral decay, unequal access to resources, misuse of technology, and legal inadequacies, arguing that the prophetic framework provides ethical, practical, and universal solutions. The research concludes that applying the principles of Sira in modern contexts can promote social harmony, uphold justice, and foster responsible citizenship.
