Social harmony is essential for the stability, progress, and well-being of human societies. Islam presents a comprehensive ethical framework for fostering harmonious relationships through justice, mutual respect, compassion, cooperation, accountability, and the fulfilment of individual and collective responsibilities. This study examines the Islamic framework of social harmony, with particular attention to the relationship between mutual rights, moral obligations, social solidarity, and peaceful coexistence. Employing a qualitative, interpretive, and document-based methodology, the research analyses selected Qur’anic passages, Prophetic traditions, and relevant scholarly literature on Islamic ethics and social justice. The study explores the responsibilities of individuals toward family members, neighbours, vulnerable people, and the wider community, while examining the roles of justice, tolerance, diversity, and responsible communication in maintaining social cohesion. It argues that social harmony in Islam is not simply the absence of conflict; rather, it involves the active establishment of justice, the protection of human dignity, the prevention of harm, and the development of constructive relationships among people. The study also highlights contemporary challenges, including intolerance, social inequality, misinformation, discrimination, and the weakening of community relationships. It concludes that the practical application of Islamic ethical principles can contribute to more inclusive, peaceful, and responsible societies, provided that these principles are interpreted contextually and translated into effective personal, educational, social, and institutional practices.
