Abstract

This study explores the economic empowerment of women through a comparative analysis of the Islamic financial system and modern workspaces, with a particular focus on the guidance provided in the Seerah (the life of Prophet Muhammad PBUH). The paper examines how Islamic economic principles, as outlined in the Quran and Hadith, advocate for women’s rights to financial independence, fair compensation, and the pursuit of livelihoods while maintaining social dignity. It contrasts these principles with the modern work environment, analyzing the challenges and opportunities that contemporary workplaces present for Muslim women. The research highlights the balance between Islamic teachings and modern professional practices, emphasizing how Islamic financial systems, including concepts like the right to work, inheritance, and business ownership, promote economic stability for women. Additionally, it investigates how modern workspaces, such as corporate offices, entrepreneurship, and freelance opportunities, can either align with or conflict with Islamic values regarding women’s participation in the workforce. By reflecting on the Seerah, the study draws attention to how Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) empowered women economically during his time and offers valuable insights into how these principles can be applied today. The research aims to provide a holistic view of women’s economic empowerment in both historical and modern contexts.
