Biodiversity is a fundamental component of healthy ecosystems and plays an essential role in supporting human well-being, environmental stability, food security, and sustainable development. However, biodiversity is increasingly threatened by habitat destruction, climate change, pollution, overexploitation of natural resources, invasive species, and rapid urbanization. Effective biodiversity conservation therefore requires an integrated approach that combines ecological knowledge, sustainable resource management, community participation, environmental policies, and long-term ecosystem monitoring. This study examines the importance of biodiversity conservation and ecosystem management and explores major strategies for protecting species, habitats, and ecological processes. The study adopts a qualitative research approach based primarily on a review of recent scientific literature, environmental reports, and research studies. The analysis focuses on major threats to biodiversity, conservation approaches, ecosystem restoration, protected areas, sustainable resource use, and community-based conservation. The findings indicate that biodiversity conservation is most effective when conservation activities are integrated with ecosystem management and local community participation. Protected areas, habitat restoration, sustainable agriculture and forestry, control of invasive species, pollution reduction, and climate-adaptive management can contribute significantly to maintaining ecological integrity. The study further highlights the importance of combining scientific evidence with indigenous and local knowledge in conservation planning. Effective environmental governance, public awareness, adequate funding, and continuous monitoring are also necessary for achieving long-term conservation outcomes. The study concludes that biodiversity conservation should not be viewed as the protection of individual species alone but as a comprehensive process of maintaining ecosystems, ecological functions, genetic diversity, and sustainable relationships between humans and nature.
