THE ASMA-UL-HUSNA (BEAUTIFUL NAMES OF ALLAH) MENTIONED IN SAHIH AL-BUKHARI: A RESEARCH STUDY “IN THE LIGHT OF KITAB AL-TAWHID”

Abstract

Among the works of Imam Bukhari (may Allah have mercy on him), the most magnificent is Sahih al-Bukhari. Within its Kitab al-Iman (Book of Faith) and Kitab al-Tawhid (Book of Divine Oneness), he has compiled the majority of discussions pertaining to creed and theology. Notably, he concluded the entire work with Kitab al-Tawhid. A significant topic within this section is the exposition of the Asma al-Husna (the Most Beautiful Names) in the context of Divine Oneness; these are the attributive names of the Almighty that eloquently express the virtues, perfections, and majesty of the Divine Being. Therefore, the Asma al-Husna that Imam Bukhari has cited in Kitab al-Tawhid are presented below.
