Pakistan is one of the most linguistically and culturally diverse countries in South Asia, where numerous languages reflect the rich historical, social, and cultural heritage of its people. Along with Urdu as the national language, regional languages such as Punjabi, Sindhi, Pashto, Balochi, Saraiki, Brahui, Hindko, Shina, Balti, and Khowar play a significant role in preserving indigenous traditions, literature, folklore, and cultural identity. This study explores the linguistic and cultural dimensions of Pakistani languages through a descriptive and analytical approach. It examines their historical evolution, linguistic diversity, literary significance, and contribution to the formation of national and regional identities. The study also analyzes the challenges posed by globalization, urbanization, language shift, educational policies, and digital transformation, which have affected the status and sustainability of many regional languages. The findings reveal that linguistic diversity is not a barrier to national integration but a valuable cultural resource that strengthens social cohesion and enriches Pakistan's national identity. The study concludes that the preservation and promotion of regional languages require effective language planning, mother tongue-based education, institutional support, and digital documentation. Such measures are essential to safeguard Pakistan's multilingual heritage and ensure its transmission to future generations.
