The objective of this study is to identifyhybrid words, theirdifferent kinds, andtheirstructures in Pakistani English short stories. This study collectsdata from two short stories,Nawabdin Electrician and Saleema,by Daniyal Mueenuddin. This study adopts the qualitative method for in-depthanalysisas discussed by Cresswell (2014),and appliesthe morphological theory byLieber(2016). The theory helps analyzethe internal structures of words that blend words from different languagesinto a single unit. Mostly two types of hybrid words are present in these short stories:hybrid inflections aremost common, and hybrid compoundsare less common. Hybrid words are very significant they show culture and a multilingual society. They show how two words from different languages come intocontact and makea new word.
